Almost twenty years ago to the day I was presented with a copy of my first published book Successful Seminar Selling by the iconic doorman at Raffles Hotel Singapore.
I had been asked to speak at a global conference there as a direct result of this book being published, and the much younger me you can see here couldn't have been more excited.
In short, books open doors. Locally, nationally and internationally.
I've since written and published fifteen further books, each of which has also opened doors. One particular book sells at least one copy almost every day of the year.
For many first time authors, the very thought of writing a book can feel daunting, but with a proven process to follow you'll quickly surprise yourself at what you can achieve. And the first time someone asks you to sign a copy of your book is quite the moment!

What will I learn in this book writing course?
The course covers everything from the basics of structuring and writing your book to publishing and marketing it effectively. You'll learn different ways to write your book and then follow one that works for you in order to get it done.
Who is this course designed for?
It’s ideal for financial advisers and industry professionals looking to establish their expertise and expand their influence through authorship. Every adviser is different so will have different reasons for starting this project.
How long is the course, and what is the format?
The course runs for six months, with six online sessions lasting 60 to 90 minutes each. Yes, there will occasionally be some homework between the sessions 😉
By the end of six months some attendees will have their published book in their hands, whilst others will be well on their way. Some won't be there yet and will be going at their own pace. It's vital to remember that it's not a race!
Are there any additional resources provided during the course?
Yes, participants will receive handouts and checklists to assist with writing, publishing and marketing their book - along with video and audio recordings of each training session, summaries and transcripts.
All resources will be kept in the Classroom area of our new community LifeTalk Plus - membership of which will be included as part of the course 👍.
Do I need to have a book idea before I start the course?
Definitely not! Most people join the course with completely open minds as to what they will write about. While having a book idea is useful, the course will guide you through the process of deciding and refining your topic and structuring your content effectively.
What type of book will I be writing - fiction or non-fiction?
The majority of people attending typically will be writing a non-fiction book. It's not essential, but the content of the course is most relevant to this genre. But if horror fantasy fiction is your thing, let's go for it! 🏰🐉🗡️
What if I have no experience in writing?
The course is designed to help beginners, through to advisers who may have previously written a blog, article or even a dissertation. Whatever your experience, you’ll learn writing techniques that simplify the process and enhance your writing skills.
How can this course help me grow my business as a financial adviser?
Authoring a book can significantly enhance your credibility and authority, helping to attract new clients and opportunities. Just imagine the difference it will make having a picture of your book on your website, LinkedIn profile and other online platforms and in local press.

Will I get help with publishing my book?
Yes, absolutely. The course will detail the different publishing options and book formats available and help you to decide which is right for you. Each attendee will get help in going from a blank page to a published book.
Is there an opportunity for one-to-one coaching?
From experience, different attendees proceed at different paces, so one-to-one support is important and available to everyone.
There are also options for more regular one-to-one support when registering. Otherwise personal help and support is always available by email.
