If you’ve used the feature, you’ll have seen a noticeable increase in the number of people looking at your page. It’s the same on LinkedIn Company Pages too – when you upload pictures and other media, up goes the engagement rate with your posts and company profile.
And now comes a fun new way to make your LinkedIn personal profile much more visual – and so hopefully attract more viewers and more engagement with you. It’s called Resu-me from leading HR solutions provider Adecco.
Simply go to the service at http://www.resu-me.me/, hook up your LinkedIn profile and very soon after you’ll have a creative video and voice-over charting your career which you can then share across the Internet and other social sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
At first, it feels a little robotic and contrived, but with editing after your initial viewing you can dramatically improve your video. Keep editing and changing the content of your video until you’re happy with the result. Some of the edits I made didn’t seem to appear in my final video, but the result was fun nonetheless. And you can’t really complain because the service if free.
Whilst Resu-me won’t be to everyone’s taste, we will inevitably see more Internet tools appearing which take the information from your LinkedIn profile and present it in new, innovative and creative ways. For job seekers, this is important in helping you to stand out from the crowd – much the same as it will for business owners, sales professionals and other users of LinkedIn.
Of course, the quality of the content of your video will only be as good as the quality of the content on your profile. Make a point of looking your very best and spend time and effort on how you present yourself to other LinkedIn users - whether potential employers, customers or valuable business connections.
